D3 Vegetal Complex is an association of vit. Natural D of vegetable origin (cholecalciferol) extracted from Icelandic lichen and organic Nocellara olive oil, very rich in natural vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) and squalene, stimulant of the immune system. This association facilitates the absorption of vitamin D.
Vitamin D is a very special vitamin.
First of all, it is fat-soluble (soluble in oils) and is taken exogenously through food, but also endogenously through exposure to the sun.
Secondly, it is the only vitamin that our body produces itself 90%.

These 2 properties make this vitamin both a vitamin and a hormone.

NATURAL Vit. D is available in 2 forms:
– D₂ or ergocalciferol present in plants and fungi.
– D₃ or cholecalciferol from animal tissues.

The latest was the most used.
Yet, scientific works are currently converging on the plant-based form for Vitamin D3, extracted from lichen.
Serious companies offer vit. D₃ derived from lichen (mainly Icelandic lichen or cladonia rangiferina). This is the very one we chose.

Once the D₃ has reached the bloodstream, it will reach the liver where it is metabolized, then the kidneys where it is activated. It is then stored in the body, ready for use.
We also chose a concentration that allows to freely adapt posology to various cases, especially for children which should not be over the recommended amount.

In what form is it used?
The liquid form (in drops) is the simplest to use and the most effective especially in case of daily intake and for long periods.
The vials dosed at 100,000 IU are not very effective because after 3 weeks the blood levels of vit. D return to the original figures.
Additionally, these vials contain a much discussed additive, E321 (Butylhydroxytoluene) and additionally added sugars.
Microencapsulation is also questionable.
On the other hand, the association of D₃ with a vegetable oil (olive for example) to increase its absorption, because it is fat-soluble, is indisputable.
