Vitamin B12 deficiency is relatively common in the general population (up to 15%) with prevalence in the elderly. In general, the diagnosis is often late because the clinic is not very significant, atypical.

It is found mainly in dairy and meat products. The absorption of vitamin B12 goes through various enzymatic manipulations that begin with chewing. First, a glycoprotein secreted by the salivary glands, haptocorrin (transcobalamin I or TC-1) binds to vitamin B12 to protect it from stomach acid. This bond allows it to pass through the stomach without damaging itself to the duodenum. In the less acidic intestinal environment, pancreatic enzymes dissolve the glycoprotein transporter (haptocorrin) and release vitamin B12. This will then bind to the intrinsic factor FI (secreted by the stomach). This new complex is absorbed by the cells of the ileum (enterocytes). Inside, a new dissociation then Vit.B12 binds to a new protein, transcobolamin II or TC-2. Eventually this complex leaves the intestinal cell and goes to the liver where it will be stored.

Recommended daily intakes are 5 micrograms per day for a total liver stock of 2 to 5 mg. This reserve will last approximately 3 years if absorption ceases.

The fact that human intrinsic factor FI is produced physiologically in limited quantities reduces the absorption of vitamin B12 to 2 micrograms per meal.

Note that it will not take long to stop the absorption (salivary problems, chewing, stomach, intestines).

Until now it has been technically impossible to offer a B-group vitamin complex other than the synthetic one. The natural form did not exist on the pharmaceutical “market”.

Previously Vita Complex produced a complex of synthetic origin whose peculiarity was only the absence of Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) contraindicated in case of oncological pathologies.

We are pleased to finally be able to offer you a 100% NATURAL vitamin B complex based on extracts from buckwheat seeds, grown on soils rich in B vitamins (cultavit). Buckwheat is also extremely interesting because it is one of the gluten-free grains.

Compared to DELTA B, offered so far by Vita Complex, NATURAL B con vitamina B12 has 2 huge advantages:

  1. to be able to overcome the vitamin B12 deficiencies which have increased enormously in recent years, 15%, in particular, in the elderly. (*). This deficiency can lead to severe and sometimes severe complications.
  2. use the natural forms of all B vitamins. And now we know that the natural form is different and more effective than the synthetic form. This evidence is now recognized by most scientists and is no longer discussed (**).

However, it has the drawback of containing vitamin B12, but also to a lesser extent vitamin B9. These two vitamins are believed to be cell growth factors. It is therefore prudent to avoid them in cancer patients.

This is why Vita Complex will offer both forms:

  • Delta B without B12, synthetic form, reserved for integrated oncology
  • Natural B with Vit. B12 100% natural form.
